From our Director of Development
Join us now and BE THE LIGHT!
To ensure our community’s safety during the rising public health threat of COVID-19, we had to make the difficult decision to close our doors. Exactly one year to the date, on March 11, 2021, we re-opened our historic doors and have again begun serving the community that we love so dearly.
We have seen firsthand the “helpers” in our community step up to lend a hand, donate their time or dollars, and purchase a ticket to attend one of our events, and we thank you!
Thank you for being a bright light and supporting our majestic movie palace Tampa Theatre. Your support is so important to us!
Our marquee has shone brightly for the last 95 years, and with your help, we know it will shine brightly into our second century as well! Cheers and we hope to see you soon!
In your service,
Maggie Webber
Director of Development

*NEW* Charitable Giving Tax Deduction
All donations are 100% tax deductible, and you’ll receive a receipt immediately. In 2020, non-itemizers are allowed an above-the-line tax deduction for up to $300 in charitable donations made in 2020.
Individual Donations
As one of the most aggressively scheduled historic theaters in the nation, Tampa Theatre hosts more than 600 show times each year. This past year, 100,000 patrons attended Theatre programs, and 20,000 of those were school children – many of whom were experiencing the grandeur of Tampa’s majestic movie palace for the first time.
But as successful as our box office is, earned income still only generates about 60% of our operating budget. The Theatre’s continued success would not be possible without the generosity of individuals who recognize its value to our community. We are genuinely grateful for your support.
Corporate Partners
Corporate opportunities are available for year-round support of Tampa Theatre’s efforts, for specific programs and initiatives, and for sponsorship of the Theatre’s signature annual fundraising events.
Partnering with Tampa Theatre helps support our goals for programming and maintenance of our historic building, and establishes your association with a symbol of stability, community and time-honored tradition in the Tampa Bay area. In addition, your investment yields a range of marketing benefits, and packages can be tailored to fit your company’s specific needs.
Leave A Legacy
Since 1926, Tampa’s majestic movie palace has been the crown jewel of the city’s cultural arts landscape, thriving on the support of the community it serves. Now, in the Theatre’s 95th year, we rely more than ever on the generosity of people who consider the Theatre to be an essential part of their lives and an important anchor institution in the community. By remembering Tampa Theatre in your estate planning, you can elect to become a member of the Marquee Society, a recognition society for donors who have made provision for Tampa Theatre’s future.
The Marquee Society members are forward-thinking donors who are being recognized for ensuring Tampa Theatre’s bright future through their planned gifts.
Restoration & Seat Campaign
In planning a comprehensive restoration of Tampa Theatre, the Board of Directors has identified the historic movie palace’s most critical needs that will protect the building and improve your comfort and experience. The total cost to fully restore the Theatre is estimated to be $20 million, with $6 million identified as urgently needed improvements. We completed our $6 million phase-one goal, which addressed critical infrastructure projects, reseated the auditorium and completed the first stages of decorative restoration in 2017, but you can still contribute to our “Cush Your Tush” seat sponsorship program.
